Assignment 3

Anna McLaughlin
4th grade

1. I put the four computers in a station at the back of the classroom. The student’s desks are in groups of three. I have the desks situated where the students will all be facing the front of the classroom to make sure they are not distracted by the computers. My desk and computer are in the front of the room and the printer is beside my desk. There is a projector in the front center of the room for easy viewing.

2. I’ve made a chart of when each student will use the computers and which computer they will use. This chart is posted on the wall near the computer station. The computers will be used for 1 ½ hours in the morning and 1 ½ hours in the afternoon. Each student will have approximately ten minutes at the computer.

3. The students will primarily be using Microsoft Word to write a short journal of my choice each day. They will then print their journal and keep it in a binder. This will give the students an opportunity to become more comfortable with writing and typing.

1. I have put the student’s desks in groups of four where they are facing to the left and right of the classroom. The computers are on carts in the back of the classroom. My desk is in the front of the classroom and the printer is beside my desk. The projector is in the front center of the classroom for easy viewing.

2. The computers will be kept on the cart in the back of the classroom until their designated time of use. We will use the computers each afternoon for 1 ½ hours.

3. The computers will be used for Accelerated Reading activities. The class as a whole will read stories together from books on the internet. Once the class has finished a story, each student will use the AR program to take the AR test. This will allow each student the chance to read and test at the same pace.
